Man's body found in estuary at Fleetwood

Police are appealing for information after a man’s body was recovered from the Wyre Estuary at Fleetwood on Saturday 2nd February.

Police officers have been unable to identify the man and are appealing to anyone who thinks they may be able to help to come forward.

“Sadly, we have not yet been able to identify this gentleman and we are very keen to try and trace his family so we are appealing to anyone who may have any information that might be able to help to contact us.

“We are not treating the death as suspicious and we have not had any people reported missing to us that match this man’s description within Lancashire so any information the public may have would be appreciated.”

He is of slim to medium build and has receding wavy, grey hair. He has two distinctive brown coloured moles, one in the centre of his chest and the other on his side in the area of the right rib cage. He doesn’t have any tattoos or scars. He has slightly protruding teeth.

It is thought that the man is believed to be between 55 and 70 years of age, had been in the water for less than 24 hours.
