Police have recovered the body of a man from the River Mersey.
At about 3.10pm yesterday, officers found the body of a man in the river near to the Waterside Hotel in Cheadle.
Tests are ongoing to establish the man’s identity, however it is believed to be Neil Marsom, who was reported missing in January 2013.
His next of kin has been informed and enquiries are ongoing.
Police say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
