Investigation into failures at Furness General Hospital

The people managing our hospitals are not fit for purpose, according to the outgoing Director of Public Health for Cumbria.

Professor John Ashton says the crisis over baby deaths at Furness General Hospital was caused by a 'perfect storm' of bad management, where prices were put before patients

He was speaking as the health ombudsman confirmed it's investigating whether those deaths were ignored by managers.
