Police in Merseyside are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired at a house in Maghull yesterday at around 11.36pm.
– Chief Superintendent Nikki Holland, the Area Commander for Sefton,
"The investigation is still in its early stages, but we believe that shots were deliberately fired at a house, which suffered damage to the front windows. We believe that during the incident one of the shots also caused damage to the downstairs front window of the house next door.
"This incident shows the total disregard that the offenders have for members of the community and we are fortunate that no-one was injured."
The scene has been cordoned off, whilst forensic examinations are carried out and house-to-house inquiries are underway.
High visibility patrols are actively patrolling the area to reassure the local community.
Anyone who has any information which could help the police to find and arrest those responsible is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
