Liverpool youths launch £5.2m centre

A new £5.2m sports centre and community fire station has been launched in Liverpool.

The Fire Fit Hub in Toxteth was officially opened by young ambassadors who have helped make the project happen.

The facility includes a sports hall, a martial arts and dance studio and four five-a-side football pitches, as well as the community fire station.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson also announced the city council would fund seven apprenticeships at the centre.
