Police in Cumbria are appealing for help to trace 54-year-old Derrick Matthews who they want to speak to in connection with a series of charity box thefts across the county.
Officers are investigating six separate incidents of charity box thefts across South Cumbria. Police enquiries began when a charity donation box was stolen from the Queens Hotel in Ambleside on 29th January 2013.
This was followed by the theft of more charity boxes on the 26th February from the bar of the Watermill Inn in Ings, Kendal; The Royal Oak in Ambleside and the Highwayman near Kirkby Lonsdale.
Police want to speak to Matthews as they believe he may have information about these incidents.
