10k race for bottle attack victim

The family of a man who died after he was attacked with a bottle one year ago are to organise a 10k race in his name.

Phillip Sherriff, who was from Garstang, had a broken bottle pushed into his throat as he enjoying a night out in London on April 7th last year.

26-year-old Ashley Charles from Leicester was jailed for at least 14 years for the attack.

Mr Sherriff's family launched a campaign to have glass bottles replaced with plastic in pubs and clubs.
