Community Allotment to help save lives

Children in Greater Manchester have helped to open a community allotment next to their school. The pupils from Miles Platting have planted fruit and vegetables that will be used in their own school dinners. It's hoped the project will lead to healthier eating in the community.

Miles Platting has some of the highest rates of chronic disease compared to the rest of Manchester and the North West, including obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
