Cheshire's golden girl receives Damehood

Cheshire's eleven-time Paralympic champion Sarah Storey will receive her Damehood at Buckingham Palace today.

The 35-year-old swimmer-turned-cyclist, has 11 gold medals making her Britain's greatest paralympian. Four of those golds were claimed at this summer’s London 2012 Paralympics.

Eccleston's Bradley Wiggins was also awarded a knighthood in the New Years Honours after winning the Tour De France. Click here for more.
