Three men are now being questioned by detectives in the manhunt for Michael Cope, wanted in connection with the murder of Linzi Ashton.
The mum-of-two was found dead at her home in Winton on Saturday evening.
A post mortem found she died as a result of pressure to the neck and multiple injuries.
Officers have been granted more time to question the 25-year-old man arrested on Monday.
Late on Tuesday night officers arrested two other men, aged 26 and 27. All three remain in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Greater Manchester Police and Crimestoppers, the independent charity, have also announced a £5,000 reward for anyone who has information leading to the arrest and conviction of Michael Cope.
