The family of a man found dead on a Wirral street are appealing for anyone with information to come forward..
The body of Mark Reissing, from Wallasey, was found on Tuesday on Egremont Promenade in New Brighton.
A post-mortem examination found he died as a result of multiple injuries.
His family said:
"Sometime between Monday 8 July and Tuesday 9 July our brother Mark was brutally murdered. He was then callously dumped in a side alley near to Egremont Promenade, where he died of his injuries.
Nobody's dad, son, brother or uncle deserves such a horrific death. If anyone has any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, please contact Merseyside Police to help apprehend the perpetrator or perpetrators."
A 41-year-old man remains in custody. A 37-year-old woman arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
