Two drivers are thought to have been racing each other when they collided in Greater Manchester, leaving a 12-year-old boy fighting for his life.
The youngster and a 50-year-old man were knocked down by one of the speeding vehicles in Daubhill, Bolton, on Sunday.
It is thought two Vauxhall Astra cars had been speeding along St Helens Road at about 11.30pm when they both hit a BMW 320 which pulled into the road.
The force of the crash meant one of the Astras left the road and hit the two pedestrians.
The boy remains in a critical condition and the man in a stable condition, said police.
Nine other people from the three vehicles suffered minor injuries.
One of the Astra drivers, a 20-year-old man, remains in hospital, while the other walked off while being treated by paramedics and efforts are continuing to find him.
