Port Sunlight is celebrating 125 years. A festival will be held this weekend in honour of the global household goods and food manufacturer Unilever's milestone.
William Hesketh Lever originally set up business in Warrington in 1884, making Sunlight soap before expanding to produce some of the worlds biggest brands including PG Tips and Persil. Lord Lever 64 acres at Port Sunlight into a factory surrounded by a village for it's workers.
Today the grade II listed building still remains. At it's height there were 8000 employees at the site today there are 900 staff.
There are also proposals for a £40m production plant at Port Sunlight.

A man has been arrested after a seven-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his bike in St Helens yesterday.
