After weeks of auditions and tears and heartache for both the judges and contestants, the 24 hopefuls who have made it to the judges houses stage of The X Factor have been revealed.
It was good news for Paul Akister, 24, from Lancaster, who has been a gigging club singer since the age of 17 and now wants to move on to bigger things.But there were tears from Stephanie Woods, 20, from Skelmersdale, who was sent home.
The two dozen wannabes are bidding for a place in the final 12 who will be part of the live finals over the coming weeks on the ITV show.
