The MP for Manchester Withington, John Leech has welcomed the announcement of an £800 million investment in Manchester Airport.
The investment comes as part of the City Deal policy which invests in business and employment opportunities for large cities outside London.
This is great news for south Manchester and it is estimated will bring in 16,000 more jobs to the Manchester area.
This reaffirms the government’s commitment to job creation.
The airport city adds to the 60,000 new jobs HS2 will bring to the area and go even further in bridging the North-South divide.
Since 2010 the Liberal Democrats in Government have helped to create 1.4m new private sector jobs in the UK and aim to create a million more by 2015.
