A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Paul Thorbjornsen. The body of the 46-year-old was found by police in a flat on Dalemeadow Road in Knotty Ash on Saturday morning .
John Penlington, 52, of Strathmore Road, Tuebrook, appeared at Liverpool magistrates’ court after being charged with murder.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on December 30. Police also arrested a 30-year-old man from Toxteth on Monday morning on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was taken to a police station where he will be questioned by detectives.
