A Lancashire mother has today launched a charity designed to make us all more aware of brain tumours and brain illnesses.
Suzanne Clague's son Louis underwent surgery at Alder Hey Children's Hospital eighteen months ago after tests showed he had tumours in his brain.
It had taken two years from when Louis, who is now ten had first showed symptoms to him being diagnosed.
His mother says the UK is much slower at diagnosing these sorts of tumours than in other countries.
Her charity is called Hedzup and a series of publicity events will be taking place throughout the year to help raise awareness.
Her son showed signs of sickness, lethargy, deteriorating handwriting, and his head tilted to one side, but she says parents or guardians who are concerned about signs like this should go to their gp.
