Corporal Jonathan Rodgers came to the rescue of 81 year old Derek Broome when he suffered a heart attack and collapsed in a bank. The Fusilier had only left his battalion in Cyprus 2 days earlier.
The pair were reunited in Fairfield Hospital, Bury. Derrick says he wouldn't have survived if it hadn't been for Jonathan's quick thinking. Jonathan was able to call on the CPR skills he'd learned during his tours of Afghanistan, Iraq and Northern Ireland to help until medics arrived.
