Police appeal to hit and run Porsche driver

Police are investigating a hit and run in Chortlon, Manchester after a man was left critically ill when he was knocked down by a Porsche. The 26 year old man was hit whilst crossing Wilbraham Road at 10:20pm and is critically ill in hospital.

It happened near Spread Eagle pub, the drive of the black Porsche Panamera did not stop. The car has since been recovered after being found burned out and abandoned on Brookburn Road.

A dedicated team of specialist officers are now investigating this collision. The driver knows who they are and what they have done, they should also know that we will find them no matter how long it takes and we will bring them to account. I will appeal directly to the driver and say come and speak to the Police now on your terms before we come knocking on your door. I will also appeal to the family and friends of the driver. Do not protect this person, we will investigate and take action against anyone who does. This is no time for misplaced loyalty, a young man is fighting for his life."
