Police searching for a Lancashire hillwalker, reported missing in the Outer Hebrides, have found a body.
Edward Jackson, 55, was last seen on Saturday in the Maraig to Urgha path area of North Harris.
Mr Jackson, from Preston, was on a walking holiday in the Western Isles and was reported missing yesterday.
Coastguard teams, Hebridean Search and Rescue and the Police Scotland dog section all helped officers in the hunt for the missing man, also known as Ted.
Police later confirmed that the body of a man was found in the Western Isles this afternoon during the search for the hillwalker.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Mr Jackson's next of kin have been informed.
