London gets three times as much arts and culture investment as the North West of England. A report by the Institute for Public Policy Research says Londoners have £72 per person spent on the creative industries. That figure is just £24 for people in the North West.
The IPPR says the government claims it wants to rebalance the economy outside London. And the think tank believes more spending on Arts in this region is a huge step towards achieving that.
