Showery rain spreading east. Heavy outbreaks

Radar rainfall at 1.45pm 7th April Credit: Met Office

Heavy, showery rain continues to travel east this afternoon.

The red hues on the radar above indicate rain falling 8-16mm per hour, so some quite heavy pulses within this weather system.

A drier, brighter spell will follow from the west for a time this evening.

Further scattered showers with clearer breaks will develop overnight.

A much better day tomorrow.
