Boxing legend Rickie Hatton will be taking part in a charity football match this afternoon in memory of a mother who was murdered by her boyfriend.
Linzi Ashton, who was 25, was beaten and strangled by Michael Cope, 28, at her home in Salford last June.
Today, former Manchester City players will play a side made up of police officers, firefighters and probation workers, to raise money for Victim Support.
City players expected to take part include: Peter Barnes, Paul Dickov, Shaun Goater, Ian Brightwell and Asa Hartford.
It takes place from 14:00 at Hyde FC.
