Former soldier Andy Reid, from St Helens, is attempting to recreate one of the most daring missions of the Second World War.
He will row 60 miles down a French river to re-enact the journey of the famous Cockleshell Heroes in 1942. He will be joined by other former soldiers - some fellow amputees, and also those who have suffered with post traumatic stress disorder.
