Church leaders order a review into the case of a vicar, abused as a teenager, by a bishop

A vicar from Lancashire who was sexually abused as a teenager, by a bishop, is accusing the Church of a cover-up. The Church of England is now launching a review of the case. The Bishop was Peter Ball who was jailed last year after he admitted a string of historical sex offences.

The Reverend Graham Sawyer, who is the vicar of Briercliffe, in Burnley, was abused by the former bishop in the 1980s. He says his abuser escaped justice thanks to a deeply sinister, co-ordinated cover up. He believes the Anglican church has failed to do enough to support victims.
