'Legal High' ban in the Isle of Man from today

Range of products now outlawed in the Isle of Man and the UK

A blanket ban on so-called legal highs comes in force in the Isle of Man today.

The Manx Government say offenders who break the law face up to 7 years in prison.

The ban includes the import and export of the substances along with their production and possession.

A similar restriction was introduced in the UK in May.

Treasury has made this order to protect the community from the importation of harmful substances, and to prevent the Isle of Man from being used as a conduit to circumvent the prohibitions in force in the UK.'
