'Day of Hope' for flood victims

Cabin of encouragement offered to those hit

On the first anniversary of devastating floods that hit the North West a 'Day of Hope' is being held in Kendal.

The Cumbrian town was one of the worst hit areas last December after Storm Desmond hit. Local people and dignitaries will gather at a church which played a central role in relief efforts and offered help to those forced to leave their homes.

Helpers from Sandylands Methodist Church clocked up 13,000 hours of work to help the community in the aftermath of the storms.
