More arrests in Blackburn murder inquiry

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Blackburn have arrested a further three men.

They are being held on suspicion of the murder of Andrew Whitter, 54, originally from Chorley.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital in a critical condition after suffering head injuries and died three days later.

Police believe he may have been assaulted and robbed in the days before he was taken to hospital.

Two other men have already been arrested. One's being questioned on suspicion of murder, the other has been released without charge.
