Bolton train commuters face two week closure

Bolton station closes today for more than two weeks leaving thousands of passengers forced to find other transport. The station will be closed to the majority of services as Network Rail carries out essential work to reinstate platform five. As a result, the majority of train services will not run in to or out of Bolton until the first service on Monday 28 August, so rail passengers should check their journey on the National Rail Enquiries website before they travel. Bus replacement services will operate on Newport Street and passengers are being asked to use park and ride Metrolink services from Bury, Radcliffe and Whitefield.
