The MET Office has issued an Amber weather warning for the Isle of Man this evening.

Heavy rainfall and risks of flooding are expected across the island.

It comes as Storm Aileen is set to bring winds of up 75 miles per hour to parts of the UK.

Passengers booked on this evening's sailings from Douglas to Heysham at 20:30 and Heysham to Douglas at 02:15 are subject to disruption or cancellation.

A final decision will be issued by the Steam Packet at 17:30.

More info can be found on the company's website.

Storm Aileen is moving eastwards across the British Isles today, to affect the Isle of Man and Irish Sea this evening and at first tonight bringing persistent heavy rain. Whilst amounts are uncertain average rainfall is expected to amount to 25-35mm quite widely across the island but with the risk of 40mm or more possibly over the hills, causing flooding.
