First Manchester bus strike called off

The planned strike by staff from First Manchester’s Bolton & Rusholme depots this coming Monday has been called off, all First Greater Manchester services will now run as normal.

Following a meeting between Unite and First Manchester representatives today, Monday’s planned strike affecting Bolton & Rusholme depots has been called off.

Unite has agreed to recommend an offer to its members and a ballot will take place next week.

Phil Medlicott, Managing Director at First Manchester, said:

We are pleased that Unite have called off the planned strike action on Monday following constructive talks this afternoon.

We are hopeful that staff will accept the offer being recommended by Unite and avoid any further disruption for our customers.
