The widow of a Merseyside police officer who was killed in the line of duty, had to comfort their two young daughters today at the unveiling of a new memorial.
PC David Phillips died when he was hit by a stolen truck two years ago.
At a ceremony in Birkenhead, the Prime Minister described him as a local boy who became a national hero.
His father told Granada Reports he wanted people to remember his son's sacrifice.
