WATCH: Peggy heads to the Palace

One of the North West's oldest and greatest volunteers Peggy Maskrey is off to Buckingham Palace later to receive an MBE....for 80 years of service to the community.

Peggy has been familiar face at the Charles Thompson’s Mission in Birkenhead ever since she arrived on the doorstep aged eight with her mum Dolly Monaghan in 1928.

At the age of 16 Peggy started volunteering there and has been there every since serving thousands of meals to the area’s needy . Granada Reports caught up with the amazing volunteer recently.
