Animal safety experts are warning dog owners of oil deposits, which could kill their pets, which have appeared on beaches in Formby and Southport.

Palm oil is being washed ashore from a 26-year-old shipwreck off the North Wales coast.

The oil is toxic to dogs, if eaten. Vets say they have treated a number of dogs who have become ill.
