Unique images of Greater Manchester to go on display

A unique glimpse into the past is to be revealed later in Manchester.

The photographs were gathered by the Ordnance Survey to help make maps of the region.

Taken in the post war period they were used by the Ordnance Survey to verify sites.

Elaine Owen of the OS has collected twenty thousand images, some of which are now being shared on new website which is being being launched at the Central Library.
