A teenage boy has died following an incident in a field in Rochdale, Manchester.
The circumstances surrounding the boy's death remain unclear but three other teenagers have been taken to hospital, police said. Officers were called to the field, near Dewhirst Road in Syke at 11.15am this morning over concern for the boy's welfare.
Other emergency services were also scrambled to the scene but the boy sadly died. Officers are investigating whether or not his death is suspicious, a GMP spokesman said.
She said: "Shortly before 11.15am today (Saturday 26 May 2018) police were called to reports of the concern for the welfare of a teenager in a field near Dewhirst Road in Rochdale.
"Emergency services attended but the teenage boy sadly died and three teenagers have been taken to hospital for treatment.
"Enquiries into whether there were any suspicious circumstances around this boy’s death are ongoing."
