Wearing red for Sickle Cell

Manchester Town Hall will be lit up in red on World Sickle Cell Awareness Day to stand in solidarity and show its support for those who have the disease.

Organisers want as many people together as possible to wear red T shirts (or tops) to raise awareness with the public about what Sickle Cell Disease is. They also want to raise the profile of the disease and the need for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities to donate blood.
