Hosepipe ban remains in place on the IoM due to reservoir shortages

A hosepipe ban remains in place on the Isle of Man due to levels falling in the reservoirs.

Manx Utilities say that if the rainfall average stays 14% below the previously worst recorded low point, which was in 2016, there could be problems with drinking water in early 2019.

The island's resevoirs have dry surrounding earth, which means that the ground is absorbing rainfall, rather than feeding into the reservoirs.
