An oil spill has taken place in a northern town on the Isle of Man.

Last night at 5.45pm Ramsey Coastguard were called to investigate an oil pollution incident in Ramsey Harbour.

The spill, the cause of which is currently unknown, could be seen the whole length of the harbour.

Unable to find the source, the Coastguard left absorbent booms in the corner of the harbour to soak-up most of the pollution, which will be checked over the next few days.
