Pressure is growing on the Metropolitan Police tonight to take decisive action in its worsening racism crisis.

Twenty officers are now being investigated over claims of abuse, three of them from just one borough - Newham.

While the area's acting commander has emailed residents saying "there's no place for racism in the force or in Newham", a former chairman of the Black Police Association has warned "rogue officers should not sleep soundly in their beds".
