As forecast the day dawned with sunny skies. People on the station platform looked rather thrown by such benign and pleasant weather. I'm sorry to say that before too long, just when we've all got used to squinting at the skies, the clouds will return accompanied by showers.
As is now the norm they'll be heavy, possibly thundery and there may even be some hailstones thrown in for good measure, so the weather's living up to its unsettled springtime promise.
There'll be repeat performances tomorrow and also Sunday with showers no doubt being a welcome relief for the runners but perhaps not such good news for the spectators. I'm a watcher, not a runner (me moving at speed even for short distances is a pitiful sight) but send good luck to all involved.
