Day 2 of the games and the weather could have a role to play today....
The men and womens sailing events got underway at Weymouth this morning and the gusty west to south-westerly winds we are seeing across the south coast should provide some good racing and perhaps some challenging conditions should any heavy showers develop over the course.
Showers will effect many parts of the UK, some of which will be heavy and with the chance of thunder, particularly across the south-east during this afternoon.
It was a disappointing race for the Men's cycling yesterday. Today its the turn of the women.
The 140km road race, starting and ending in The Mall with the route taking the riders across the River Thames and into Surrey before heading north back through Kingston and Richmond Park.
With a fresher south-westerly breeze and the risk of showers, this could be a welcome cooling affect for the cyclists.
The hockey starts at the Olympic Park today. You can find out about how the weather affects hockey with an interview with professional women's hockey player Maddie Hinch here
Tomorrow's weather is looking more promising,a fine day across London and the Southeast with only a small shower risk, most parts will be dry, some spells of sunshine and lighter winds.
