Police are offering a £20,000 reward for information that helps solve the murder of Harjinder Singh Bhurji.

He was stabbed to death by car thieves in Ilford almost exactly a year ago.

Police were called out to Highbury Gardens, shortly after 1am on Tuesday 13th September 2011. Mr Bhurji, aged 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's thought that he had been sitting in his Mercedes, chatting to a female friend, when a man suddenly opened the passenger door, dragged the woman from the car, demanded Mr Bhurji hand over the keys and stabbed him in the heart.

The attacker made off in the vehicle, but it was later found abandoned in Chingford.

The suspect is described as black, about 6ft 2ins, of slim build and wearing a grey "beanie" hat.

Two people are currently on police bail in connection with the investigation.
