Christies prepares for modern art auction

On Wednesday, the auction house Christies will auction off several artworks by leading artists which are expected to raise over £100m. The paintings will be sold in two evening sales, the 'Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale' and 'The Art of the Surreal Evening Sale'. Amongst the items going under the hammer are works by Amedeo Modigliani, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Pablo Picasso.
