The Price of Gold: worth the cost?

The Price of Gold report from the London Assembly looks at the average cost of ticketing at the London 2012 Olympics. Here's their list of figures.

  • No one was able to buy a ticket for the Olympic medal-winning sessions in athletics, track cycling or swimming for less than £50.

  • On, average it cost £333 to see Mo Farah win gold in the men's 5,000 metres.

-58% of people who bought a ticket for the men's 100m final paid more than £294 each.

-Watching Tom Daley win bronze in the 10m platform diving final cost an average of #203.

-The average ticket price for Olympic athletics medal sessions was £231.88 and a fifth of tickets cost more than £400.
