There is a Met Office yellow warning in place for high winds in the London region today.
The winds are building throughout today peaking between 4 and 6pm with gusts upto 50 mph.
That is strong enough enough to bring down a few tree branches and cause transport problems for high sided vehicles and ferries.
The winds are the result of an unusually deep area of lowpressure sitting over Ireland.
The wind whips around the low pressure in ananti-clockwise direction blowing in from the south west.
The band of rain youcan see on this picture will weaken and then move across our region late afternoon/earlyevening bringing some light to moderate rainfall.
It is staying breezy tonight and tomorrow but gusts will bepeaking at 30 mph instead of the 50 we may well see this afternoon.
