I arrived back to London yesterday after a beautiful week in sunny (and warm) Spain.
I have to say it was nice to land into Gatwick with the sun shining. I was surprised as to how warm it felt as we came off the plane.
This was quite a contrast to the cold and wet conditions we left in, just a week before.
Whilst on my way into work this morning I have been looking at how the weather is shaping up for the week ahead.
Today is technically the first day of summer and finally we are going to enjoy some better weather.
High pressure will dominate this week, resulting in the first prolonged spell of dry weather for some time.
Ok so it won't be wall to wall sunshine (cloud amounts will vary day by day), but a fine and dry week ahead, with spells of sunshine.
Temperatures will be favourable too, high teens - low 20's.
This weekend will be fine and dry with sunny spells.
Cloud breaks will allow for some spells of sunshine this afternoon.
If you are out and about however you will notice it isn't feeling quite as warm as yesterday as we have a gentle cool northerly wind.
It stays fine through this evening and overnight. Skies will be largely clear, and clear skies by night take us into a bright start to Sunday morning. Some lovely early sunshine.
Through the day the cloud will tend to increase but it should feel warm with temperatures rising to around 20c.
The outlook is for more of the same.
Dry and settled. A week when you can finally leave the umbrella at home.....
Cloud amounts will vary each day but there will be some decent spells of sunshine. It will feel pleasantly warm although coastal areaswill be a little cooler where sea breezes develop.
