Unsettled weather set for this weekend

As I drove past Kew Green on my way into work this morning, stalls were being set up in preparation for today's midsummer fete.

Organisers had on their anoraks and wellies as the rain continued to fall.

The forecast is looking rather disappointing this weekend, but I'm sure in true British spirit people won't be put off.

This unsettled weather is courtesy of an area of low pressure anchored to the west.

Overnight a band of rain journeyed from west to east.

The main rain band has now cleared, but behind it showers have been developing, accompanied by a strong south westerly wind.

That sums up the weather for the rest of this weekend, blustery showers which will be heavy at times.

There will be some dry and bright spells in between the showers, and across the London area the showers are fairly scattered. That saying we cant rule out the odd heavy spell.

Temperatures are disappointing for the time of year and if you add on the wind factor, it's feeling pretty cool outside.

It feels more like autumn than summer!
