Martin's weather blog: Heatwave weekend!

Heatwave weekend ahead!

If you thought it was warm last weekend, brace yourselves for Saturday. On Sunday last week we fell just short of 30C (86F) in London but tomorrow temperatures are expected to reach 32C (90F).

There will be a little cloud around so we can expect a hot and humid day whith similar but slightly less scorching conditions on Sunday.

The high temperatures have led the Met Office to issue a hot weather warning. Officially for there to be a heatwave we need to have two consecutive days at 32C or higher with nightime temperatures not falling below 18C. The Met Office says there's a 60% chance of that happening this weekend.

Advice from Met Office: Heatwaves can be dangerous, especially for the very young, very old or those with chronic diseases.
