Detectives have named a man wanted over a shooting at a 10-year-old girl's birthday party.

Alfie Gannon, 20, is being hunted by officers from Scotland Yard after a man was shot in the leg in front of his terrified seven-year-old stepson in Bromley, in south-east London on May 18.

It is claimed that Gannon had an argument with the victim's brother during the party at a house in Ravenscar Road, and threatened to kill him when he was asked to leave.

He allegedly returned more than five hours later and confronted the 22-year-old victim, shooting him with a semi-automatic pistol. The man has since made a full recovery.

This was a shocking incident at a child's birthday party.

Understandably both the children and guests at the party where extremely traumatised by the senseless actions of the suspect.

Trident are today releasing an image of a man wanted in connection with the shooting in the hope that he himself will come forward, or those who may know his whereabouts contact the police.

I would like to reassure any potential witnesses who may be worried about making contact with police that Trident has extensive expertise in protecting witnesses and there are a range of measures that can be taken to protect you.

– Detective Constable Paul Buckley

Members of the public have been warned not to approach Gannon, who it is believed has links to West Yorkshire.
